Kidnapping Victim Rings In The New Year With Krewella
Michelle Knight, one of the victims in the infamous Ariel Castro kidnapping case that rocked the Cleveland area in May 2013, celebrated her first New Year's Eve as a free woman in a big way with the help of some well-known friends.
Krewella was ringing in the New Year at “Cleveland Rocks,” a free New Year's Eve party hosted by Drew Carey, when they brought Knight on stage. Krewella and Knight braved a blizzard to create an experience Knight may never forget.
Ariel Castro kidnapped Knight on August 22, 2002 after she was leaving a cousin’s house. That same day she was scheduled to appear in court for a child custody case, but she never made it. Knight was 21 at the time, and while the scars may not have healed from the horrible experience, Krewella opened their arms to the resilient woman.
Krewella is known for their big hearts, as earlier this year, they released a track with hardstyle master Headhunterz entitled “United Kids of the World,” which contains an anti-bullying message accompanied by a powerful video.
It was a big 2013 for Krewella, and the way they kicked off 2014 comes as no surprise to their fans. While the past year may be behind them, the sky is the limit for what this awesome trio can achieve.
