Beats Music Looks to Revolutionize Music Discovery
Beats Music is a new platform looking to break into the music subscription service industry in a huge way. Launching tomorrow, the service, created by Chairman Jimmy Iovine, COO Trent Reznor, and CEO Ian C. Rogers, has the potential to change the way people discover new music.
Beats Music wants to emphasize that they are not just a music server, but an actual music service. They have built a service that combines the freedom of an on-demand subscription service, but also “layers on top features that would give you that feeling only music that moves you can give.”
Beats Music will have a catalog of more than 20 million songs. Additionally, it will feature curated playlists delivered right to you based on your taste. You will have the power to tell Beats Music where you are, what you feel like doing, who you’re with, and what kind of music you’re looking to hear, and it will deliver you an endless playlist based on your specific mood. The service will remain ad free, and you’ll be able to search and play friend’s playlists as well as download hundreds of albums for offline listening.
Beats Music will cost $9.99 per month and be available on IOS, Android, Windows Phone, and computers at launch. Beats Music has also partnered with AT&T for a family plan that will grant access to a total of five people and ten devices for just $14.99 per month.
