Avicii, Calvin Harris, & Zedd on Forbes' "30 Under 30"
Electronic dance music has made its way into Forbes' "30 Under 30" list in the form of three rising producers. The third annual "30 Under 30" list brings together the brightest stars under the age of 30 in fifteen different industries, including science, finance, and music. Read below to find out which three stars made the cut.
Tim Bergling, otherwise known as Avicii, was listed second on the music category list, right under Bruno Mars. The Swedish producer has become a superstar after releasing his debut album True, which features his number one hit “Wake Me Up.” Avicii is also ranked number three on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list and is earning six figures per gig at the young age of 24.
At age 29, Calvin Harris is the world’s highest paid producer, making six figures per show as well as raking in money for producing for huge stars like Rihanna. Calvin Harris was an obvious choice for the 30 Under 30 list, as he already made it on several of Forbes’ other lists. Harris also holds the record for the most top ten hits from one studio album; 18 Months landed nine hits in the top ten of the UK Singles Chart, surpassing Michael Jackson.
Rounding out the music category is Zedd, one of the hottest rising stars in electronic dance music right now. At the ripe age of 24, the Russian-German producer has already produced hits for Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga and released a full studio album titled Clarity. His tracks "Clarity" and "Stay The Night" both hit number one on Billboard's US Hot Dance Club Songs, and Zedd also scored himself a solid #24 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list.
