Club Space Responds to Deadmau5 in Open Letter
After his recent New Year’s Day show at Mansion Nightclub in Miami, Deadmau5 declared that he would not be playing shows in Miami any longer. He was upset about the fact that everyone placed up front were “trust fund kids” glued to their cell phones while his real fans were placed in the back. He took to his own live site to say, “I f**king reamed out my agent for making me deal with that,” he said. “Putting fans in the back and trust fund kids up front is f**king stupid as f**k,” and as a result, he “won’t be playing any more Miami clubs.”
Club Space has now responded to Deadmau5 in an open letter offering him $25,000 to cover his flight and five-star hotel to perform a free show at their nightclub. Club Space goes on to say that they will extend complimentary admission to all his fans so they will be able to enjoy his music on their dance floor without trust fund kids or anything in between. Give the entire open letter a read below.
Deadmau5 has since responded positively and is working out the details of making the free show happen.
What we do know is that Mansion and Space are both owned by The Opium Group. Would you say this is a nice gesture or just good marketing on their part? Let us know in the comments below!
