This video is a "Timestretch" back to humble beginnings

Lorin Ashton, better known as Bassnectar, has developed into a unique electronic producer with an even more eclectic fan base. Over his illustrious career, he has produced ten albums that all showcase his penchant for seamlessly blending breakbeat, drum and bass, glitch, hip hop, and an endless list of other genres together into flawless compositions.

At this point in his booming career, Bassnectar is no stranger to live performances. However, it’s great to look back at Ashton’s beginnings and appreciate how far along he’s come. Back in June 2002, Bassnectar made his first live PA performance at Health and Harmony Festival in Santa Rosa, CA. He was already an established DJ at that point, but he decided to take the extra step and add more live elements to his show. Take a look at his first live PA performance below!

It’s clear to see that although Bassnectar has skyrocketed in fame, his musical direction is still firmly grounded in the soundscapes initially incorporated in his earlier work. This video is a fun throwback for fans and a great reminder to all that hard work and creativity certainly does pay off.
