One Direction seems to be making a concerted effort to connect with the dance music community. This makes a lot of sense, as a lot of their fan base is growing up and becoming more interested in dance music. Last week, we reported that one of the boy band's members, Liam Payne, had started producing future house remixes under the alias "Payno." Now, we've found out that One Direction has put together a remix contest for their new single, "Steal My Girl."
The contest states: "After getting involved in remixing himself, Liam Payne wanted to give other people the opportunity. He, and their guest judges including senior A&R and Radio executives from Sony Music, will select one artist to receive a prize of £1,500. The selected remix will be posted to millions of music fans across the band's official channels and potentially played on radio as an exclusive premiere. To participate in this life changing opportunity use the stems provided to create a high-energy Friday night club track to get dance floors moving everywhere!"
Unfortunately, it appears the remix contest is only open to UK residents. If you live in the UK and have any interest in participating in the contest, we've included the original version of "Steal My Girl" below.
