Music fans across New York have been preparing for one of the Halloween's biggest events, Insomniac's Boo!. Unfortunately, confusion has struck many through unclear updates concerning the venue for Insomniac’s first New York Halloween event. Boo! was originally scheduled to be held at the Barclays Center with Craze, Milo & Otis, Tchami, Tommy Trash, DJ Snake, Knife Party as the talent. However, the event is now merging with another New York Halloween event, Pier of Fear. Despite what you might have heard, Boo! is not cancelled and Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella has clarified the situation.
Rotella posted a photo to Instagram with the following caption: "BOO ticket buyers, we owe you an apology. After reading through all your comments online, it’s clear that we dropped the ball in how we handled the venue change for this event . For those who don’t know, our NYC Halloween event has relocated from Barclays Center to Pier 94 and merged with Pier of Fear. We did this because many of you had expressed a desire for floor access, and since floor space at Barclays Center is limited, we thought moving to an all-GA venue would be a positive decision for everyone. Unfortunately, there were things we did not take into consideration to ensure a smooth transition—the biggest being the variance in ticket prices. Here’s what we’re going to do to make this right.. . We will be offering a refund for the difference to people who purchased BOO tickets over $50, as well as a full refund for those who would rather not attend. All refund details and answers to additional questions can be found at bit.ly/BOOinfo (link is also in my Insta bio). I’m upset that things with the venue change didn’t work out the way we had hoped. Nothing is more important than the trust you have in Insomniac. It allows us to continue creating amazing experiences that we all love so much. I know Halloween is such an important holiday for our community, and we’re working hard to make sure that everything is right."
