Calvin Harris Tops 2 Different Billboard Charts Following Release Of New Album, 'Motion'
Calvin Harris has taken over the Billboard charts with his new album, Motion. It debuted at #1 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums chart and sold 35,000 copies in its first week. This was the best debut for an electronic dance music album since Skrillex's Recess sold 47,000 copies in its first week back in April. The album features the hit song "Blame," which hit #1 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.
Harris is the fourth artist to sit atop the Dance/Electronic Albums chart and Dance/Electronic Songs chart at the same time. Daft Punk, Avicii, and Disclosure are the other three acts to achieve this feat.
Also, Motion debuted at #5 on Billboard's Top 200, which is the chart that ranks album sales for all genres. It's the highest chart position for an electronic dance music album since Skrillex's Recess.
Harris released the music video for the album's new single, "Outside" featuring Ellie Goulding, earlier this week.
