Gives thanks to dance music

This Thanksgiving holiday, America is gathering to worship and give thanks to many different gifts in their lives, including electronic dance music. After devouring a turkey dinner and delicious desserts, dance addicts can escape from their family gatherings and unite at numerous festivities around the country. From NY to LA, we compiled a list of our ten favorite, must-attend events during the upcoming extended weekend. 

1) Zeds Dead, Webster Hall, New York NY (Nov. 26)

Covering a wide spectrum of electronic music with the release of Somewhere Else EP on Mad Decent, Zeds Dead is recognized for breaking versatile sonic territory. This Thanksgiving Eve, the Toronto-natives will perform at one of the largest nightclubs in New York City, Webster Hall. Located in the East Village, the forty-thousand square-foot venue is the ideal concert hall for the daring duo to perform. Expect a comradery of house, a thrill of drum and bass, heavy electro, and the uniqueness of ambient sounds all in one night as Zeds Dead kicks off the weekend.

2) Diplo, Surrender Nightclub, Las Vegas NV (Nov. 26)

Shortly after his return from the wild Mad Decent boat party, label-head and Grammy-nominated producer Diplo will take over Surrender Nightclub on Thanksgiving Eve. Having established himself as a multi-talented and ubiquitous figure in the scene, Diplo is guaranteed to throw an epic party. Excuse yourself at the dinner table and get down to Twerks-giving at one of Vegas’ hottest clubs.

3) Trancegiving: Paul Oakenfold, The Church, Denver CO (Nov. 26)

The Church Nightclub in Colorado is home to every kind of dance worshipper. Presented by Global Dance, the entertainment forefront of the Colorado dance music scene, the 11th annual Trancegiving is bringing Paul Oakenfold on Thanksgiving Eve. Prepare for a radiating trance-filled night.

4) Rebecca & Fiona, Exchange, Los Angeles CA (Nov. 28)

Rebecca & Fiona will be in the building the night after Thanksgiving at Exchange Los Angeles. Presented by Insomniac Events, the Swedish DJ duo will transform the night with vibrant pop, EDM and indie sensibilities. Exchange LA, spanning twenty-five thousand square feet and four floors in its Art Deco design, is the ultimate venue to awaken your senses this Black Friday.

5) Rusko, Bluestone, Columbus OH (Nov. 28)

The dubstep madman will have plenty of bass to stuff your face this holiday. With only one month left of his current fall tour, Rusko plans to bring the insurmountable energy that coincides with his live performances. Basically, your eardrums will explode and smile at the same time at this Ohio-based show.

6) Time Warp, 39th Street Pier, Brooklyn NY (Nov. 28 and 29)

Leading German techno festival Time Warp is coming to America for the first time ever, bringing a breathtaking experience where the heart of the underground and technology collide. After celebrating two decades in its hometown of Mannheim, Germany, the long-running festival is bringing performances by Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Luciano, Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Dubfire and many more.

7) Life in Color, J.F.W. Convention Center, El Paso, TX (Nov. 29)

After the madness of Black Friday, the world’s largest paint party Life in Color is bringing The Chainsmokers, Brillz, and David Solano to El Paso, Texas. The Chainsmokers, recognized for #SELFIE, is most sought after for their wild antics and addicting productions. Brillz, with releases on OWSLA and MAD Decent, will have the audience going wild with trapped-out blend of hip-hop and EDM. The Unleash Tour promises fans an epic show, characterized by dynamic music, thousands of people and blasting paint into one spectacular combination.

8) Dirty South, LIV Nightclub, Miami FL (Nov. 29)

Following his sophomore studio album release With You, Dirty South will take over one of Miami’s hottest nightclubs, LIV. In our recent interview with the producer, Dirty South intends to remix his own tracks from his album, so we hope to get a peak of these club-friendly versions at the show.

9) Kill The Noise, Masquerade, Atlanta GA (Nov. 29)

Bringing a fresh approach to dubstep and moombahton, Kill The Noise will mark his territory at the Masquerade. From packed nightclubs to sold-out festivals like HARD, Electric Daisy Carnival and Audiotistic, the buzzing producer will bring a heavy-bass set to one of Atlanta's most iconic venues.

10) Music Fights Aids, Pacha, New York NY (Nov. 30)

Lifebeat will kick off #MusicFightsAids, a multi-faceted campaign that will bring together a coalition of major outlets, celebrities, DJs and online music distributors. Some of the globe’s top international producers including A-Trak, Fedde Le Grand, Green Lantern and special guests will perform at Pacha New York, a multilevel relative of the renowned Ibiza dance club.
