Campaign For Daft Punk Lego Sets Gains Traction
Even though the French duo Daft Punk wraps up 2014 on a relatively quiet note, the demand for their merchandise shoots through the roof. With their exclusive ornaments selling out in mere hours (they've since restocked), it's clear that Daft Punk fans crave as much robot-inspired memorabilia as possible. That desire crossed over into the LEGO territory recently, with a campaign asking the company to make official Daft Punk Lego sets accruing nearly 4,000 supporters on a Lego's Ideas page.
Even though Lego states 10,000 backers are required for an idea to be considered, the company playfully teased their awareness of the campaign. They posted the following pun-filled statement:
"This project is speeding and it isn’t stopping. This project didn’t just get lucky, the detail and thought behind the project speaks for itself."
The ideas page highlights the vision of the project, including sets inspired by the "Around the World" and "Robot Rock" videos, their Electroma film, and their ALIVE 2007 pyramid design. Visit the official Ideas page to show support.
