A continuation of Martin Garrix’s mini-documentary, The Martin Garrix Show, was released yesterday on YouTube. The second episode follows the 18 year old as he maneuvers through the renowned Amsterdam Dance Event, exposing the true rigors of being a world famous DJ and producer.
Garrix candidly discusses the joys of having such a large event in his hometown as well as the comradery that is so unique to the DJing community. The entire episode is laden with cameos from the likes of NERVO, Dillon Francis, Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren and more. The highs of such an energetic lifestyle are inevitably followed by bouts of fatigue that even Garrix can’t escape, as he is seen feeling sickly after one of the many sets he plays throughout ADE.
The episode concludes by documenting Garrix’s time at Amsterdam Music Festival, where he is surrounded by close friends and family – all of which are amazed by his rise to fame at such an early age. At the very end of the episode, Garrix learns that he has been ranked as the #4 DJ on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list. The feeling of astonishment is so very evident on his face and in his demeanor as there are times throughout his last few interviews where he seems to be at a loss for words. This raw emotion captured in this episode makes the viewer appreciate how Garrix has such a humble approach to his work and subsequent success.
