Armin Only Intense is finally coming to North America in April. The tour has trance fans across the continent counting down the days until Armin van Buuren wows them with his vision for the Intense album. Armin will be playing four shows in the United States, two in Canada, and two in Mexico. The North American run will kick off at Madison Square Garden on April 11.
If you're unfamiliar with the concept of Armin Only, Armin provided an explanation in the press release for the tour: “Unlike today, now that it’s all based on short sets and quick highlights, it used to be all about the long sets, the musical trips. That’s what Armin Only is based on – to take the clubbers on a [five]-plus hour journey into music. Through the Armin Only Intense shows, I can tell them the full story of my Intense album – in fact of everything I’d like to say.”
Armin Only is one of the most unique concert experiences you can be a part of. When I write this, I don't mean solely within the confines of electronic dance music—I mean it is one of the most unique concerts in music as a whole. A five-hour set from Armin is amazing on its own, but the set will also include live vocalists and musicians, acrobats, state-of-the-art visuals, and pyrotechnics. A lot of time went into planning and producing Armin Only Intense, and it promises to be an aural journey coupled as well as a visual spectacle that will keep you engaged for five awe-inspiring hours.
I have never been to an Armin Only show, but my friends who attended Armin Only Imagine in Los Angeles on New Year's Eve 2008 said it was literally a life-changing experience. After waiting for more than five years, Armin Only is coming back to North America, and I cannot wait to see what the international superstar has in store for us.
