Although MTV doesn't typically come to mind when we think of achievements in film, this year’s MTV Movie Awards gave EDM fans something special to remember it by. Sunday's event featured a special performance of the tracks “Beating Heart” and “Find You” from the Divergent soundtrack. Zedd played the serene piano medley of “Beating Heart” while Ellie Goulding softly sang the chorus.
Once “Beating Heart” was finished, Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant joined Zedd onstage to give a live performance of “Find You.” The uptick in tempo made for a nice change of pace from the Goulding track. Check out the full performance of both songs below.
The performance not only showcased the talent of these already popular artists, but it also showed the variety of emotions on display throughout the Divergent soundtrack. The Divergent soundtrack featured a number of our favorite electronic producers, including Zedd, Skrillex, Gesaffelstein, and Pretty Lights.
We hope to see this trend of talented dance artists contributing to film scores continue. It will help our favorite producers receive the recognition they deserve, and it should make movies more enjoyable to watch.
