North Coast Brings Out Massive Lineup For Their 5th Anniversary
Despite warm weather still not yet hitting my hometown of Chicago, all of us here are already atwitter about “Summer’s Last Stand.” In fact, after North Coast Music Festival’s lineup was officially released earlier today, it’s seems like the entire EDM universe has shifted their focus towards the Midwest. We’re more than comfortable with the extra attention. The festival is taking place August 29-31 in Union Park. Celebrating five wonderful years in Chicago, this year’s festival is packed to the gills with an absolutely absurd amount of talented acts! And guess what? There’s still more to be added.
In a few short years, North Coast went from being relatively unknown to now stealing the spotlight from other major Chicago festivals like Lollapalooza and Spring Awakening. That's pretty darn impressive if you ask me! But for the price and the product, there are very few better values offered on the festival circuit. From year one when a ticket cost roughly $60.00 (yes, for a full three-day festival), to the reasonable $149.00 (plus fees) that React Presents & Silver Wrapper are charging for this year’s extravaganza, there’s no doubt that North Coast has always prided themselves on giving us plenty of bang for our buck.
Big name headliners like Bassnectar, Kid Cudi, STS9, & Snoop Dogg will surely be the first thing that jumps out at you. If Bassnectar’s performance is anything like his North Coast set from a few years ago, Union Park will be turned into a complete madhouse! I’m also very eager to check out STS9 after they made some slight adjustments to their group during the past year.
As we move further down the lineup, it becomes pretty obvious that North Coast is quite serious about making their fifth anniversary a memorable experience. Names like Alesso, Nicky Romero, Dada Life, Zeds Dead, Adventure Club, GRiZ, Showtek, Wolfgang Gartner, The Floozies, Future Rock, What So Not, Break Science, Cosby Sweater, Muzzy, & Wick-It The Instigator all appear on this year’s bill. I think the term you’re looking for to describe this lineup is “stacked.”
The Coasties are already coming out to play in Chicago, but we’ve still got plenty of time till Labor Day weekend is actually here. In the meantime, keep an eye out for more lineup announcements and pick up your tickets below.
