It was recently revealed that deadmau5's upcoming album is titled while(1<2). The album will be released digitally on June 17 and physical copies will be available on June 24. deadmau5 announced in March that he'd finished producing the 25-track double album, and he has simply been waiting for his management and label to carry out their responsibilities.

“It’s a good mix of sh*t I want to do versus sh*t people want to hear or what they would expect. It’s a good balance. It’s not like, ‘Oh, it’s such a departure. He’s doing smooth jazz,’” says deadmau5.  “It was when I was working on some live stuff, setlists for shows and stuff like that, and it just must have been a couple of tracks that sounded pretty good stitched together end to start and I thought, “Well, if I ever do an album or compile this into some kind of album this has got to be that part of the order for that.” And I just kind of took everything and played musical Tetris with it.”

Over the weekend, deadmau5 uploaded a 30-second clip of the album's opening track to the mau5trap records SoundCloud channel. "Avaritia" will make its full radio debut on Friday, May 16, during Pete Tong's BBC Radio 1 show.

If you're a big deadmau5 fan, you might recognize "Avaritia" as one of the tracks he uploaded to his personal SoundCloud channel last year. Although deadmau5's SoundCloud channel currently  has just one song—an attempt at hardstyle from his conflict with Wildstylez—the channel was previously utilized as a way to show his fans unedited productions. According to a press release sent out this morning, some of these works in progress will appear on while(1<2), so you might already be familiar with numerous tracks on the album. However, the full tracklist has yet to be released.

deadmau5 has done a great job of getting his fans excited for the album. It is his seventh studio album, but he sent out an eye-catching tweet a few weeks ago.

It'll be interesting to hear an actual album from deadmau5 rather than a random collection of songs thrown together. It's rare for an electronic dance music producer to craft an album that has a clear vision from start to finish. While it's always important for an album to have great individual tracks, the listener's experience can become even better when an album's tracks are listed in a way that creates an overarching storyline. June 17 is marked on our calendar, and we can't wait to hear what deadmau5 has created.
