The Australian sister-duo NERVO and the UK-based label Ministry of Sound have recently come together to release the second installment in the label’s newest project series “Inspired.” In this new series, artists provide a mixtape compiled of staple tracks found within their vast collections of recordings, ranging from their earliest influences growing up to their varied inspirations heard today. In NERVO’s edition of “Inspired,” the talented duo offers two different hour-long mixes, one called “Present/Future” and the other called “Past,” and they both present an in-depth look into the minds and tastes of this dynamic force in house music today.
“Present/Future” is the first mix in the ladies’s “Inspired” compilation, and it features over 15 different songs that currently attract the young ladies’ versatile taste in music. From electro house to deep house to progressive, this mix covers all the bases in today’s most popular scenes, and a quick skim through its tracklist proves how diverse their tastes truly are. Singles like “Countdown” by Hardwell & MAKJ and “Booyah” by Showtek give light to the duo’s more eccentric appeal in house music, while singles such as “Careless” by Dusky and “Okay” by Shiba San take things down a notch and present their “deeper” side to 4-on-the-floor beats. Within “Present/Future” you will also find a handful of NERVO originals and collaborations, including an exclusive single made specifically for the “Inspired” compilation called “Sunshine Thru The Rain Clouds,” featuring Duane Harden.
