Trance Thursday: Vol 7
Progressive Track of the Week
Vintage & Morelli - For You (Illuminor Remix)
Every now and then, an artist will come around and take a popular sound, and then show the world how to really use it - such is the case with this track. Although the synth sounds in the drop of Illuminor's remix of "For You" by Vintage & Morelli can be heard in numerous other trance songs, it's the unique chord progression accompanied by the short breaks and transitions that takes this song to a whole new level. This, is how a progressive track should sound.
Tech Track of the Week
Lee Osborne - End Of The Line
To be honest, I never expected Lange Recordings to put out a tech trance song. Progressive and electro trance, sure; but never tech. With Lee Osborne's "End Of The Line" however, I'm awfully glad they did. I don't know what it is about this track, whether it's the meaty kick, sub-bassline, or electro-influenced drop. Whatever it is, it's a tune that I absolutely love including in my mixes.
Uplifting Track of the Week
Gelardi - Just Fly
A killer bassline can turn any "simply good" track into an amazing one, and "Just Fly" is a perfect example of this. Gelardi has a habit of putting fantastic bass rhythms and melodies into his songs, injecting a flare that makes them stand out in a sea of homogeneity. They're so powerful that they often become the driving force of his music. This track is no different, though that is most definitely not a bad thing. If you want to bob your head to some uplifting trance, this is the track to listen to.
