After years of deliberation, Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella has announced that Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas will be broadcast through a new online experience called “EDC Curated.” However, this is not your traditional music festival live stream as fans will only be able to watch portions of the event. Insomniac will curate and stream video from cameras placed all over festival to capture select artist performances, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.
Rotella made the announcement via Instagram saying, "EDC Curated is NOT a live stream. Our goal is to give Headliners across the globe a look behind the scenes and into the crazy, wonderful world that is EDC Las Vegas, and that’s so much more than just DJ sets and crowd cut-aways. Everyone from our stilt walkers to our stage designers has a unique story to tell. The circuitGROUNDS, the cosmicMEADOW, the neonGARDEN, the kineticFIELD, the bassCON stage—they all have a story. YOU have a story."
Insomniac has teamed up with 7UP to deliver the broadcast in never-before-seen ways. Using more than 50 cameras at eight different stages as well as cameras placed on carnival rides, the grandstands, and a special “owl’s eye view," fans at home will be given a glimpse of this year’s EDC experience.
EDC Curated will be broadcast on Insomniac.com from 8:30 pm PST to 8:30 am PST on June 20-22. Make sure you tune in to watch becuase EDC Curated 2014 will not be shown to the public again.
