Snapchat Introduces 'Our EDC Story'
The wildly popular smartphone app Snapchat has just unveiled a brand-new feature made especially for Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. “Our EDC Story" holds the same features as “My Story” in that a collection of photos or videos may be broadcast for 24 hours before they are deleted. However, users attending EDC Las Vegas may collectively add to “Our EDC Story” by turning on their phone’s location services to let Snapchat know you’re actually at the event.
In a blog post, Snapchat wrote: "We built Our Story so that Snapchatters who are at the same event location can contribute Snaps to the same Story. If you can’t make it to an event, watching Our Story makes you feel like you’re right there! It’s really easy to use."
Fans who are unable to attend the festival can add “EDCLive” on Snapchat to check out EDC through series of submitted snaps. Snapchat will curate EDCLive if the story gets too long or there are snaps that contain something illegal.
If you are not a Snapchat user, make sure you tune in to Insomniac's new online experience: EDC Curated.
This is the second day in a row that we've reported on Snapchat's influence on this year's EDC. Yesterday, we found out that Snapchat has partnered with Insomniac in order to offer free Wi-Fi to EDC attendees who want to send Snapchats to their friends.
