Electric Daisy Carnival's Enormous Economic Impact On Las Vegas In 2014

Insomniac's fourth annual Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas was a huge success and record-breaking event this year. The three-day electronic dance music festival, which sold 400,000 tickets, had an estimated economic impact of $322.3 million on Las Vegas. This year alone, the festival’s economical impact was more than half the total of last three years combined.

According to Billboardbiz’s estimate, a total of $158 million was spent during EDC by festival attendees. This total breaks down into food and beverage, hotel rooms, transportation, gaming, entertainment, and retail spending along with tax revenue and increased labor income. Food and beverage leads the breakdown with a total of $52.2 million, while retail spending comes in last with $13.7 million. Check out the complete breakdown in the image below.
