Stereosonic Releases One Of The Year's Most Impressive Festival Lineups
If you’ve been sitting and wishing for a reason to visit the land of AUS, then Stereosonic may just be the perfect reason to pack your bags and head down under for an Australian summer. The festival takes place in five different cities: Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.
It is universally recognized that Australia’s number one dance music festival has a habit of returning stronger each year. It’s safe to say the premier event has outdone itself yet again. The festival has released its absolutely stellar 2014 lineup, boasting a roll call of dance music royalty, along with some highly esteemed fresh faces.
For anyone attending the festival, it’s an impressive affair. The lineup will undoubtedly appeal to a diverse mix of revelers from almost anywhere on the planet. There’s literally something for everyone: house, electro, trance, bass, Melbourne bounce, and techno are all present in some form or another.
Dance music heavyweights Calvin Harris, Tiësto, Diplo, Disclosure, W&W, DJ Snake, Skrillex, Alesso, Steve Aoki, Showtek, Dash Berlin and special guest Carl Cox will be playing the festival.
In addition to an incredible list of headliners, Stereosonic is keeping the Trance family happy with locked-in performances from Cosmic Gate, Orjan Nilsen, Andrew Rayel, and the first ever Australian appearance from New World Punx. To give you an idea of how great the Stereosonic lineup truly is, take a look at Sydney's lineup below.
For anyone travelling to Australia, It would be an opportunity missed not to catch some of the local talent in their natural habitats, with Bounce prodigies Will Sparks and Joel Fletcher, taking to the decks alongside Australian, internationally loved duos What So Not and Nervo to name a few.
To those in search of good classic House music, or something a little left of centre - look no further. Cox will be joined by Nina Kraviz, Germans Booka Shade in all their live glory, Stereosonic first timer Oliver Heldens and "I Got U" craftsman Duke Dumont. If you’re after something a little harder, Destructo, RL Grime, DVBBS, Noisia, and Foreign Beggars are just a select number of acts set to unleash a flurry of bass on punters.
Just to top off the excitement, stages include LA’s HARD, the highly respected Dutch brand Awakenings, and Ferry Corsten will return with his iconic FULL ON arena. Legendary record labels and electronic brands, including Beatport, Armada and OWSLA, will also be making their Australian festival arena debuts.
One noteworthy element that really sets this festival apart from the rest is the incredible sense of togetherness and family an Australian tour can create for the artists. Some of the world’s biggest acts play together, party together and work together for an entire two week stint. Put Diplo and Disclosure in the studio together and you have a dangerously awesome recipe for greatness.
In addition to hosting great music, Stereosonic continues to amaze and create an incredible experience for patrons with it’s breathtaking production quality, stage set-ups, activations and immaculate festival grounds. Once witnessed, there are no questions as to why people travel from all corners of the planet to attend this majestic feat. Over a six-year history, this travelling electronic circus has evolved into the biggest dance festival that has ever graced the nation, and it is showing no signs of slowing down soon. Us Australians like to go big, and this year we are expecting nothing short of colossal.
