EDC Las Vegas had no issues in attracting fans this year - it sold out months before the festival's first lineup even dropped. The annual event has become a dance music Mecca in recent years, so it should come as no surprise that Pasquale Rotella, founder of Insomniac Events, recently told Las Vegas Weekly that he is "absolutely" considering adding a second weekend to EDC Las Vegas.
In the interview, Rotella explains that expanding to two weekends would cut down on production costs and allow them to do even more with their budget. EDC Vegas is already known for its insanely detailed productions, so it's hard to imagine how much crazier it would be if another weekend were to be added. Rotella also explained that the decision would be made in the weeks following EDC, so we can likely expect an announcement in the coming months. If EDC Las Vegas were to expand to two weekends, it would be following in the footsteps of other festivals like Ultra, Tomorrowland, and Coachella, who have all seen massive success in recent years thanks to their bi-weekend expansions.
