Tommie Sunshine Discusses His Latest Projects On The Horizon [Mix Premiere]

Tommie Sunshine spoke to EDM.com yesterday about the launch of his bi-weekly "Sunshine Forecast" mix, and he described to us his reasoning behind creating the new series. He says, “After getting so much up-front music, I felt it was only logical to share it in real time with those who follow me. This is so much more than just a straight forward DJ mix and I hope that is clear after listening to one of the sessions.”

EDM.com is extremely fortunate to provide an exclusive pre-download for Tommie's third installment of his "Sunshine Forecast" a day early, as it will officially be available on his SoundCloud tomorrow. The tracklist for the mix can be found below.

In our conversation with Tommie, he also explained to us that he's standing on the verge of some big projects, not the least of which including an upcoming book project and a TV show.

With a massive new release on Size Records with Chocolate Puma on October 20th, Tommie also plans to have four original music releases on Ultra alongside Halfway House feat. Fast EddieGlowinthedark feat. T3nbearsVince Moogin and The Partysquad.

We were also incredibly excited to hear about Tommie's new and undisclosed project that he's working on with Disco FriesHalfway HouseBig Nab & Fatman Scoop, as well as the festival-rivaling list of DJs supporting the upcoming 60th release on his brainchild label Brooklyn Fire Records'. We can't give away any more information on these projects quite yet, as these details are still on the hush as we move forward into the fall.

With all these new releases and projects on the horizon, Tommie is still staying loyal to his fans from down under, as he is currently preparing for his yearly pilgrimage to Australia at the end of September. While in Australia, he will be traveling on a club tour, then making his way to Tokyo, Bali and the Amsterdam Dance Event in October where he will be moderating and sitting on panels with the best of the best.

If all of this wasn’t enough, our most exciting news to share is of the EPIC multi-media collaborative project to be hosted by EDM.com and Tommie Sunshine. We have a plethora of more details that we will be publishing in early September, but it will undoubtedly serve as a proper blend of Tommie’s love for music, his social conscience, and his direct political activism.

When we asked Tommie about the state of the current EDM scene, his veteran insight shined through when mentioning, “With so much amazing music floating around, I believe this to be one of the best times ever for Electronic Music. Anyone who says they can’t find great music these days is simply not digging deep enough for it."
