Rob Swire Previews the First Track Off Knife Party's Upcoming Album
Back in June, Australian dance duo Knife Party took to Twitter with an update on their highly anticipated debut LP, which is set for release later this year. The pair revealed that the album would be titled Abandon Ship and that they they had locked in nine of the album’s 12 tracks, with “5 more in the maybe pile.” Now, one-half of Knife Party, Rob Swire, has revealed the first glimpse of the album on his SoundCloud. It's a bass-heavy trap number titled “Boss Mode”.
In classic Knife Party style, the track is all about the bass, featuring thudding kick drums which roll into heavy 808 subs. If you’re not vibing on this one, though, don't be alarmed. According to Swire, the rest of the album will “sound nothing like it.” Check out what else the producer had to say below.
The album’s release date is due to be announced soon. If you can’t hold off that long, Knife Party will undoubtedly drop a few exclusive previews at Electric Zoo later this month, where they’re set to headline the Main Stage East on the second night. In the meantime, enjoy "Boss Mode," and let us know what you think of the track in the comments below.
