Now, we’re letting you in on our party plans: from this month on, we’ll be bringing you a monthly list of the best upcoming events to mark down in your calendar. We’ll be giving you a rundown on what to expect from each festival – from the huge line-ups to the crazy stage production – as well as dates, times, locations and where to score yourself tickets. From Berlin to the UK, September is already gearing up to be massive, so rest up now – there’s sure to be lots of sleepless nights ahead.

1. Bestival 2014 - Isle of Wright, UK

UK’s annual Bestival is one of the craziest events of the year. Held across 4 days on the Isle of Wright - marketed as “a veritable garden of Eden” - the party is an award-winning boutique festival hosting some of the hottest acts in dance music right now. Headlining the event is EDM poster-boy Diplo and his fan-favorite Major Lazer project, as well as UK house duo Disclosure and German producer Boys Noize. The bill runs deep, too, featuring a number of talented underground DJs and producers, from deep house duo Dusky to UK bass-bandit Eats Everything. The festival kicks off this Thursday, September 4, so be quick: get over to their website for tickets, news, info and the complete list of artists playing throughout the festival.

2. Berlin Festival 2014 - Berlin, Germany

Kicking off Friday, September 5 and running across the weekend, the 2014 instalment of Berlin Festival is set to be one of the biggest events of the month. The event is taking place at the Arena Park in Kreuzberg and boasts a massive lineup of underground talent. Amongst those billed are Glaswegian producer Rustie, Australian house trio RÜFÜS, and mainstay techno heroes Sven Väth and Nina Kraviz. Also on the agenda for the weekend is a live set from Danish producer Trentemøller, as well as a stint behind the decks from disco man Todd Terje, who released his debut album earlier this year to critical acclaim. So if you’re planning to spend some time in Germany this month, make sure to put Berlin Festival on the itinerary. Jump across to their website for tickets if you’re keen to get along.

3. TomorrowWorld - Chattahoochee Hills, GA

This is the biggest festival of September. TomorrowWorld is taking place September 26th-28th in Georgia. The United States version of Tomorrowland was amazing in its debut last year, and we can't even begin to imagine what kind of surprises await us this year. As we wrote last week, TomorrowWorld has many other features that EDM festivals lack. Camping in DreamVille is amazing, the diverse crowd is something you won't find at most festivals, and the beautiful landscape will wow you. Last year, TomorrowWorld hosted visitors from over 75 different countries. Beyond that, the production is top-notch, and the lineup is awesome. Avicii, Bassnectar, Diplo, Kaskade, Skrillex, Tiesto, Zedd, and tons of other talented producers will be performing at TomorrowWorld.

4. Dancefestopia 2014 - Kansas City, MO

Kicking off September 12, Dancefestopia claims to present “an enhanced high-energy lineup with the biggest names in the music industry” - and their lineup definitely delivers. The bill features everyone from DVBBS to BorgeousBeats AntiqueKeys N KratesETC!ETC!Flux PavilionExcisionMak JR3habVictor NiglioCarnage, and the list goes on. It won’t be light on production value, either: according to the promoters, fans should “prepare for a sensory overload as the stages light up the sky and performers rock the crowd”. Sold? Make your way to their website for tickets and be sure to check out the preview video while you're there - it’s sure to get you excited.

5. Listen Out 2014 - Sydney, Australia

In early 2013, famous production team Fuzzy announced that annual Australian festival Parklife was no more, leading to the birth of inaugural “dance-off” Listen Out, framed as “the antidote to many of the things you don't like about bigger music festivals”. In 2014, the event is continuing into its sophomore year, pulling in a huge lineup of international and local buzz acts, including trailblazing producer Zhu, UK duo Bondax, and Sydney superstar Flume. Also on the lineup is deep-house producer T.E.E.D, as well as Four TetTa-kuShlomo, and a series of talented locals. It’s set to be a big one, so if you’re booking flights to Australia this month, don’t forget to grab Listen Out tickets while you’re at it. The shows kick off in Sydney on Saturday September 27 - head over to their website for more details.

6. Ultra Japan 2014 - Tokyo, Japan

After celebrating its 15th year in Miami in 2013, Ultra announced last October that they would be expanding once again, launching South Africa and Japan editions of the festival starting in 2014. The Japanese event kicks off September 27 at Ultra Park in Tokyo Odaiba, and is set to play host to some of the biggest international producers. On headline duties: DJ Mag’s #1 DJ, Hardwell, mainstage hero Afrojack, and superstar duo Axwell /\ Ingrosso. Also on the lineup is big room prodigy Martin Garrix and Swedish producer Steve Angello, as well as KaskadeAlessoFedde Le GrandW&W, and a host of talented local DJs and producers. Plus, as we all know from their amazing roster of events, the team at Ultra sure know how to throw a party, so this is definitely not one to miss. Unfortuntely, tickets are already sold out, but if you were lucky enough to score yourself some, get ready: it’s going to be crazy.
