Pasquale Rotella & Insomniac Donate $15,000 To Boys & Girls Club
Insomniac Events CEO Pasquale Rotella has been known for giving back to the community on several occasions, and yesterday marks yet another kind donation from the event company. In the past, Rotella has donated $1 per ticket transaction and $10 per guest list attendee towards local charities in hopes of spreading inspiration and good vibes throughout the world one step at a time. This time, Rotella chose to donate $15,000 to the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, a local New York performing arts program in the Bronx. The club has enriched youthful and passionate artists for over thirty years now, including Jennifer Lopez and Kerry Washington. The $15,000 donation will be used to purchase new stage curtains and more, fundamentally improving the quality of their production and ability to teach and influence young artists.
Rotella continuously hosts massive events across the country, which contributes to Insomniac’s Charitable Giving Initiative due to the donations that are given to the communities in which the festivals are held. Electric Daisy Carnival New York, in this case, proved to aid the community once more as the 3rd Annual EDC NY took place at the MetLife Stadium on May 24 and 25, 2014; the event hosted approximately 50,000 headliners, surpassed 100 performers and featured over 40 of the current top DJs and producers. Since the inception of EDC NY, Insomniac has now donated over $200,000 to charitable organizations within New York that are dedicated to helping youth find their passion in the world of performing arts.
EDM has always fought to stand as a manifesto towards creating a better world as the scene encompasses basic values that we, as human beings, should all strive to embrace on a daily basis. While donating to regional organizations nationwide may not exactly save the world, it proves a point that the EDM community really does have the ability to step forward and be proactive in local communities.
Rotella also received a series of performances from teen members in the club as a way to show their commitment and love for music, dance, and other expressive art forms. Rotella’s events have always been a place of free expression, so to see the huge EDM community set out to make smaller differences among local communities purely for the purpose of spreading love and passion shows people everywhere that we can all make a difference.
