Disney has officially responded to deadmau5's cease and desist order. In a statement to Rolling Stone, a Disney spokesperson said ""Disney vigorously protects its trademark rights, and we oppose Mr. Zimmerman’s attempt to register a logo that is nearly identical to our trademarks for his commercial exploitation. Our opposition is not about the use of the Deadmau5 costume. The music was appropriately licensed, and there is no merit to his statement."

This public legal battle has captivated the dance music community for the past week. It all started when Disney announced they were trying to block deadmau5's trademark attempt on Tuesday. Deadmau5 countered Disney's move by serving them with a cease & desist order on Thursday in regards to a Disney Re-Micks video that features "Ghosts N Stuff."

We can't wait to see how deadmau5 responds to Disney's statement.
