New York City has always been labeled one of EDM’s largest cultures, and the city that never sleeps proved to be the home of some of the greatest New Years Eve shows in the world. Diplo and Skrillex made 2014 their year with non-stop touring, sold out shows, and of course the unification of their power-duo Jack Ü. With that being said, it seems fitting for two of the biggest producers in EDM to close out 2014 with a bang at MSG.

Jack Ü announced a while back they would be adding Yellow Claw, Rudimental, and A$AP Ferg to the roster, although they called in several special guests to make the night even more memorable. Up-and-comer Mija ended her explosive 2014 year with a solo set to start the night, iLoveMakonnen performed “Tuesday,” which was a given considering his surprise performance on Mad Decent Boat Party and release of his 2014 anthem. A$AP Rocky joined A$AP Ferg on stage for “Wild For The Night” while Waka Flocka Flame stepped on during Diplo’s set. Even Kiesza rolled through for a live performance of Jack Ü’s “Take Ü There” right after the New Year countdown.

Diplo and Skrillex are well versed in the art of fusing electronic music with other genres, and their Jack Ü NYE set demonstrated their innate skill perfectly. Along with Jack Ü classics and a few unreleased tracks, the duo incorporated a lot of rap and hip-hop into the mix. An individual set from both Diplo and Skrillex was a proper warm-up for the massive celebration that followed, as Jack Ü had the entirety of MSG in a fugue state and successfully rocked MSG to the ground.
