Deadmau5 To Tour With Brand New Stage Production This Summer
The deadmau5 live show, while certainly spellbinding, remained fairly consistent over the years. Equipped with his iconic mau5head, deadmau5 sat atop a massive LED cube and played his hits, along with an array of deep cuts, as video game-inspired and cartoony visuals lit up his accompanying LED screens. The producer wished to upgrade his live show and teased its development over 2014, hinting at an even grander spectacle. Finally, after months of waiting, deadmau5's new show will make its debut.
In a candid Reddit AMA with the promoters and producers of New York festival Governors Ball, a user asked if deadamu5 would be employing his signature cube or using new production for his headlining performance. The TeamGovBall account promptly responded by simply answering that he will have a "brand new show." Festival organizers also confirmed deadmau5 would close out the main stage on Saturday, June 6.
Deadmau5 detailed the plans for his new show last year, noting that it would be a 360-degree arena tour and that it would not play festivals. While the news of his new show contradicts his festival statement, the two shows could very well be seperate productions. Deadmau5 will be headlining Governors Ball and Bonnaroo this summer, so it can be assumed that the new show will also make appearances at other festivals. Governors Ball will be held at Randall's Island in New York City on June 5-7. Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival will be held in Manchester, Tennessee on June 11-15.
