The dog-eat-dog backbone of the music industry creates instances where talented producers fail to find an audience. In many cases, an artist must sign to a large-scale record label in order to disperse their music at a grander level. However, record labels often want to push a certain sound, so these signed producers compromise their music to gain fans. Thankfully, EDM plays with its own rules, and many producers opt out of big label deals and publish their music through start-up record labels.
Following in the footsteps of artists such as Skrillex, Nicky Romero, and many others, Henry Fong announced the launch of a new record label called Banzai Records. Fong announced the new record label and its logo on his Facebook profile, citing a desire for creative control over his future releases. No signees or releases were named, but Fong will spearhead the label with some new music later this week.
