Footage from Kraftwerk Live Sets to be Featured in a New BBC Documentary
This week, British television will show footage from a Kraftwerk performance at the Computerworld event in British art gallery Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall. Along with footage from the original Computerworld in 1981 as well as an interview with Ralph Hütter from the same time period, it will appear in a documentary titled Kraftwerk: Pop Art.
Having started in the ‘60s, Kraftwerk stands out among the few electronic music pioneers to have contributed to the legacy of EDM before the house movement of the ‘80s. Their live sets, which rely heavily on the use of real-time synthesizers, still fill seats at venues throughout the world despite their revolving door of session musicians throughout the years.
