NERVO Reveals Details Of Its Next Album
Liv and Mim, the Australian twin-duo known as NERVO, are crossing boundaries by headlining the world’s most elite electronic clubs from Ibiza to Las Vegas. While they aren’t among the highest paid DJs in the world, the estimated $9 million they made last year isn’t too shabby. The women spoke with Elle to discuss their career in the EDM industry and what it’s like to be successful female producers.
The sisters originally began careers in modeling, but Liv explains that “[music] was always something that came naturally; it was the only thing we were ever really passionate about.” She acknowledges that it wasn’t very long ago that they were at clubs and festivals listening to their favorite DJs from the crowd, and it’s a little unbelievable that their roles have switched. Liv goes on to say, “The lifestyle [is] tough; lots of late nights, not a lot of sleep… It’s not conducive to what most women want in their lives.” The women acknowledge that being one of few female DJs in the industry is difficult, but they are very grateful for their lives and being a part of the DJ community.
Fans can anticpiate a large sound from their next album and even larger collaborations. The duo sing on nearly half of the album and team up with Kylie Minogue, Jake Shear (of the Scissor Sisters), DEV, and the electronic dream pop band Au Revoir Simone. "I love the texture that other people's voices bring to records," says Liv. This texture is complimented by pop and disco influences and a backbone of electronic sounds.
The twins also shared five of their favorite tracks for the new year. The list may not include the newest tracks, but it covers a wide variety of songs that everybody can jam out to.
Check the list out below:

"Loving the '90s house chords and vocal on this one!"
"Such a great tune to zone out to. We're loving everything London Grammar is doing!"
"We have brought this track back to our sets lately and it has been going down a treat. Can't believe how fast the BPMs used to be for dance music."
