Purity Ring’s Megan James Talks About the “Push Pull” Video
Canadian dark trap duo Purity Ring has put forth their video directed by Renata Raksha for “Push Pull,” the second song they’ve released off their second album, Another Eternity. Earlier in the month, Purity Ring, which consists of Corin Roddick and Megan James, announced that they would release the album on March 3rd, nearly three years after their debut album, Shrines.
Among the surreal imagery in the video, are shots with James singing upside down with her hair and the stringy fabric of a shawl blowing, slowed down to simulate that she’s underwater. “It’s not actually underwater,” James said in an interview with MTV. “Don’t tell everybody that!”
James went on to discuss how she wrote the song during an emotional move from the east side of Canada to Edmonton. “The song travels a lot, I think,” she said. “But at the same time I still don’t really know what it’s about.”
Purity Ring have also announced that they will begin a European and North American tour in support of Another Eternity with a show in Brussels on April 8th
