A French startup company is aiming to tackle the music app industry, rolling out an app that allows users to post their favorite songs to various social media sites, notably Instagram, as well as Facebook, Snapchat and Tinder. Called Sounds, the app has become one of the most popular methods to share songs on Instagram, with a quarter of its current user base is using the app for two hours a day.

In a comment, CEO and Co-Found Rhai Goburdhun explains why Sounds is making waves in the app community.

Unlike other apps, we only use the cover art when you share a song. That’s why our users share a lot more often. We don’t use music as a way to showcase user-generated content.

He also unveils the company's future, stating that song identification and ticket sales will be added to the app.

In six months, we want to make Sounds the unique portal to your music. We are going to add a Shazam-like song identification feature, and all of this without adding new screens. You’ll be able to discover, listen, share, identify and even maybe buy concert tickets.

You can grab the app for iPhone and Android here.
