Insomniac Founder Donates Part Of 2015 EDC Earnings To Charity
Pasquale Rotella, the founder of Insomniac and their flagship event Electric Daisy Carnival - appeared at Container Park in downtown Las Vegas to make a generous donation on behalf of his empire events company.
Rotella was there to present in person $35,000 to three different local charities, which for a grand total contribution of $105k this year. While numbers showing total earnings for this year's edition have yet to be released, Insomniac confirmed that the donation came straight from the 2015 festival's revenue. The trio of charities makeup the HELP organization of Southern Nevada, University of Nevada School of Medicine and Injured Police Officers Fund.
Over the years, Insomniac has donated $380,000 to local organizations and programs to benefit the community. Since EDC has relocated from Los Angeles to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the festival has pumped into the local economy nearly $19.9 million in taxes last year.
