The Results Of The 2015 BOTTOM 100 DJs List Are In!

As the majority of EDM fans anxiously await the winner of the ever-coveted DJ Mag Top 100 DJ list, Dada Life's own DJ ranking system has compiled an alternative ranking: The Bottom 100 DJs. The Top 100 has come under fire for what some deem as a mere popularity contest (and pissing contest on who has the most marketing dollars). The Bottom 100 list is a direct response to this, and what began as a joke three years ago has taken on a life of its own, with this year seeing more than 100,000 votes tallied.

We had a chance to ask Stefan Engblom, one half of Dada Life, what he really thinks of DJ Mag's Top 100 list.

"I don't think it has affected our career. People listen to our music because they like it or hate it. They come to our show because they wanna spend the night in Dada Land and have fun, not because of a number on a list."

Stefan went on to talk about why the Top 100 list is doing the community a disservice and what inspired them to start their Bottom 100 list three years ago.

"A lot of DJs have started to take the top 100 list so seriously that it's becoming like a presidential campaign. That's what it's not about, it was a ranking from the beginning who's the most appreciated and best DJ, now it's almost like the one spending the most on their campaign.

For us it's all about having fun. And the top 100 have lost all it's fun, so we just went the opposite way and started to push the bottom 100dj list instead. You gotta love your haters."

Well, the results of the voting for the Bottom 100 list are in!

Taking home the gold this year is none other than David Guetta, followed hotly by deadmau5 (whose cat Professor Meowingtons made it into the top five as well). Dada Life themselves clocked in at the number nine spot just below Martin Garrix with Tiësto, Hardwell and Armin van Buuren landing in the top twenty as well.
