YouTube announced their upcoming paid subscription service YouTube Red today, a new addition to the leading video platform that will allow users, for the first time ever, to opt out of having to watch ads for a recurring monthly fee of $9.99. YouTube Red will launch October 28, and users will have the opportunity to sign up for a free, one-month trial to test drive its new features.

While the ability to pay to opt out of ads seems to be Red's driving feature, it doesn't stop there. The new premium service will allow users to save videos for offline viewing, offers enhanced functionality for YouTube Music, as well as a myriad of exclusive content. The new content, which will be available in January, will feature recurring video series starring some of YouTube's biggest creators on shows such as Scare PewDiePie, a CollegeHumor project, and a Zombie reality series.

The new premium service will roll out in America first before becoming available in other countries, and Youtube has stated that 98 percent of its content creators have signed on for Red.
