'Bunk Police' Smuggle In 15,000 Drug Tests To EDM Festival
Host of CNN's This Is Life, Lisa Ling tracked down a group that calls themselves the Bunk Police at Mysteryland USA this summer.
"There is a vigilante here who is literally approaching people and offering a product to them that he believes is an essential part of the EDM experience... that vigilante is named Adam, and what he's selling aren't drugs, they're drug testing kits."
Adam and his partner snuck in enough kits to run over 15,000 drug tests at the famed festival in Bethel Woods, NY, the same grounds that was once home to Woodstock. In addition to passing out kits, the Bunk Police hand out flyers that read "What the fuck, this shit is bunk" as they tell festival goers where they can find them to test the contents and potency of drugs.
Depending on the event, Adam believes that at least half of festival-goers use drugs. Lisa Ling reports, "He believes drug use is inevitable and his kits help to save lives."
Adam goes on to explain, "There are quite a few deaths every year from adulterated substances and permanent injuries that occur, so we know that this prevents some of that."
