Terminally Ill Star Wars Fan Is Granted Dying Wish [VIDEO]
A terminally-ill Star Wars fan got the chance of a lifetime today when director J.J. Abrams granted his dying wish and allowed him to view the latest entry in the ever popular film series with The Force Awakens. Daniel Fleetwood, 32, who has been diagnosed with cancer, got to see an unedited version of the upcoming film after an online campaign to achieve the goal was successful.
A lifelong fan of George Lucas' epic space series, Fleetwood was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and was told in July he had but two months to live. The film won't be released until next month, meaning Fleetwood has officially achieved legendary status among Star Wars lovers.
Mark Hamill, who famously portrayed Luke Skywalker in the original trilogy, took to Twitter to express his excitement that Fleetwood had been permitted an early viewing of the film.
