Why One of the Biggest Hits of 2015 Missed Out on a Grammy Nod

There was a major hit missing from the 2016 Grammy nominations. Peaking at No. 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 and easily one of the biggest rap tunes and meme-generating moments of the year, "Hotline Bling" was snubbed, but it wasn't because Drake didn't get the votes. In fact, the hit track didn't even get the opportunity to receive any votes.

According to a highly cited source, Drake's record label Cash Money experienced a "clerical error" resulting in the record never making it over to the voting committee. Oddly enough, Drake's "Back to Back" and "Energy" did manage to get submitted as well as. He was also nominated as a featured artist on Nicki Minaj's "Truffle Butter" and "Only."
