Former Swedish House Mafia member Axwell reportedly sent a cease-and-desist to Republican Presidential candidate Marco Rubio, ordering that he stop using the Axwell /\ Ingrosso tune "Something New" at campaign events.

Rubio has tried a number of ways to make himself seem more hip and likable to younger American voters, featuring popular EDM songs at his rallies and mentioning in an interview that he's a Tiesto fan. But it sees like Rubio's appreciation for Axwell isn't mutual.

According to NBC News, at an event at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, Rubio joked

"Electronic dance music — I'm a fan of. We just can't play it cause none of the DJ guys — they all send us letters, 'Don't play my music. I'm Swedish. I don't care about American politics,'"

Rubio's spokesman Alex Conant tweeted a clarification:

Some candidates this campaign season have had awesome support from within the music scene, but Rubio seems to be striking out with EDM artists.
