Festival season offers a seemingly endless amount of events to attend, with gatherings spanning the entire globe over the summer period. Americans witnessed a festival renaissance over the past few years, and even the small festivals have become mega events. Burning Man in Nevada grew from a relatively small community of committed veterans to a massive event during this period, despite the creators' assertion that it is not a festival but a gathering of people. Akin to many European festivals, Burning Man requires a registration process for tickets, and registration for the 2015 festival is now open.
Tickets for individuals are priced at $390, with vehicle passes running for $50. A "last-minute" OMG Sale will also have tickets available for $390. The general sale begins on February 18, with 40,000 potential tickets available. If you miss your chance to score these tickets, a low-income registration will open on March 4 and an even later OMG Sale will open on July 29. Burning Man will take place in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada on August 30-September 7, 2015. 2014's event had performances from Skrillex, Diplo, Jack U, Jamie Jones, Above & Beyond and more.
