The David Lynch Foundation will celebrate its 10th anniversary at the Ace Hotel Theater in Los Angeles April 1. The dance music portion of its entertainment lineup will be represented by none other than ‘90s legend Moby. The non-profit organization, which American film director David Lynch started as a means of teaching at-risk populations about the benefits of transcendental meditation (TM), has featured high-profile figures at its events in the past.
It has been several years since Moby, who also speaks out on animal rights and lives a vegan lifestyle, told the media that he used the TM technique to quit drinking and deal with stress. “I used to think that TM was for weird old hippies,” the producer told the New York Times in 2011, “but then I heard that David Lynch was involved, and that made me curious.”
Moby has participated in other events hosted by the foundation, including the "Change Begins Within" benefit concert in 2009 where he played guitar alongside soul singer Bettye Levette.
