Among the EDM artists who took home a trophy from the 57th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony on Sunday was none other than dance music veteran Tiësto. His remix of John Legend’s “All of Me” won over submissions by ZHU, Kaskade and Audien in the category of “best-remixed recording (non-classical).” The most entertaining aspect of his acceptance speech was the crickets heard in the peanut gallery. Even during his approach, Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” trumped the audience's light applause as he walked to the podium.
“I made this remix last year spontaneously to thank my fans,” he started his speech. “I gave it away for free download without asking. [John Legend] liked it so much, so he was like, ‘Let’s make it an official release,’ and that’s how this thing came together. And now I’m receiving a Grammy for it. It’s unbelievable. Anything is possible nowadays, you know?”
