This Gorillaz Cover Is Unlike Anything You've Ever Heard

Australian radio station Triple J just released a video of Melbourne-based neo-soul quartet Hiatus Kaiyote (HK) performing a live cover of Gorillaz' track "Dare" on the Like a Version segment of their programming. The Grammy-nominated band discussed a few odd topics with the radio hosts before demonstrating the versatility of the 2010 original.

The cover is hard to identify in the beginning, when the instrumentalists open with a jammed-out groove, but as soon as Nai Palm starts singing the first verse, the connection is clear as day. HK's unorthodox keyboard and sampling techniques ground it to the original, but with unique riffs and chord progressions.
