Are you a fan of drum n bass? How about jungle, or hip hop? If the answer is yes, then you have the Amen Break to thank for some of your favorite music.
The Amen Break is a famous 6-second drum pattern that was originally used in the song "Amen, Brother" by The Winstons. It has since been used in countless songs and is considered one of the most-used samples in electronic music history.
Richard Spencer is one of the song's creators, but has not seen as much as a penny for his work because copyright laws did not previously exist for sampling. A GoFundMe has been created in his name, and is now accepting donations from appreciative fans and musicians alike.
