Beatport Launches New Beatport Pro Website
Beatport made a routine update to the layout and functionality of its website, which has served to revolutionize downloads of EDM tracks over the past decade. In addition to changes intended to make the website faster and more user-friendly, the most noteworthy part of the update is that it makes the Beatport Pro library management services the company originally launched two years ago the centerpiece of the website.
The modernization includes cosmetic changes, such as the continuous play bar moved from the top to the bottom of the page and updates to some of the website’s functionality. These new changes have met with predictably mixed reviews from the majority of its long-time user base. The company also needed to fix a handful of bugs shortly after the update, such as the loading of hold bins.
Beatport stood among the numerous businesses bought by conglomerate SFX Entertainment in 2013, whose founder, Robert Sillerman, pledged to invest $1 billion into the EDM industry annually.
