A huge part of electronic music is the mashup genre, which finds producers combining two or more tracks together to create a new song. These mashups often give a new perspective to the original tracks, reinforcing their dynamic nature. L.A.-based producer Eskmo has raised the mashup game to a new level with his new release "Aphex Waits", a 13-minute epic track fusing Aphex Twin and rocker Tom Waits. The track incorporates Aphex Twin's new EP, Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt. II, and several classic Waits songs, notably "Frank's Wild Years" and "Lowside of the Road." Wait's iconic voice gives the Twin tracks new character, and proves that mashing up the electronic and rock genres can yield compelling results.
