Stop the presses. Two dance music legends have come together for a collaborative album that was quietly, and unexpectedly, released on Beatport.

The album, titled Unity, comes courtesy of Carl Craig and Green Velvet, who hail from Detroit and Chicago respectively, two cities that were integral in the birth of electronic dance music in the late 1900s. Craig is considered by many as an one of the most important names in the second generation of Detroit techno producers, having drawn his influences from iconic producers like Kevin Saunderson of the Belleville Three. Green Velvet has been a staple in the Chicago house scene, with a number of releases under his Green Velvet alias, in addition to other monikers. Craig unexpectedly announced their collaborative album on Monday via Twitter.

Unity, which is out now via Relief Records, is a seven-track tech house that showcases the collision of classic Detroit techno and Chicago house sounds. You can stream Unity in its entirety below!
