Women face an uphill battle in the tech and music industries where they are overwhelmingly outnumbered by men. Swedish pop star Robyn is taking matters into her own hands. The Swedish celeb is hosting a one-day technology festival called Tekla, in an attempt to bring more awareness to the inequality that still runs rampant in many industries.

Taking place on April 18th at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, Tekla aims to promote the inclusion of women in the tech and music industries. The event will offer workshops on electronic music, gaming, programming, robotics, 3D printing, internet security and more.

Check out the official website for Tekla here, and take a listen to Robyn’s collaboration with Royksopp, “Do It Again,” above!

Robyn explains Tekla in a press release saying, “Tekla is a festival for girls, in which they get to sample different areas of future technology in what I believe will be a fun and imaginative environment.”

Guest speakers will include representatives from the world's leading tech companies including Google and Spotify. Robyn will close out the festival herself with a special performance.
